Minutes of Rotary Club of SLV
January 20, 2016
Members in attendance: Judy, Don, Laurie, Janet, Linda, Joe G, Julie, Eric, Mary, Mike, Charles, Steve, Ken, Karen, Brenda, and Bill. Guests: Ralph
Guest Speaker: none
President Mike opened the meeting with the flag salute, introductions and Thought for the Day.
Speech Contest
The theme of the contest is Be a Gift to the World. The directions include weaving in the Four Way Test. We had two speakers from SLVHS.
Madeline Peterson was awarded first place in our speech contest and received a certificate and check for $200. She will represent SLV Rotary at the Area 7 speech contest. Jasmine Brack received a check for $100 and a second place certificate.

Announcements: Karen updated us on PETS; Sheriff Jim Hart will be here next week; Feb. 25 is the Area speech contest. It will start at 12:15.

Drawing: Bill did not find the Joker!
