Commons Garden Project

Help in prepping the Commons this spring for some new plantings and a bee/pollinator lawn.

All supplies and material will be provided on site. 

Our goal is to prep the run down turf by the Oak Knolls for increased seed germination. This will include raking the turf, seeding and applying a layer of compost. We will also be demonstrating a chemical free way to eradicate turf for fall planting. This is called Lasagne Gardening or Sheet Mulching where we layer organic matter and build the soil up and then plant directly in the Fall.
