Rotary Recognizes Bergan at District Dinner
February 24, 2015:   At the Rotary District 7780 World Peace and Understanding Dinner in South Portland last night, Portsmouth Rotarian Marcie Bergan was recognized as one of nineteen new Rotarians around the district who have "stepped to the plate" and embraced club and community service projects quickly.   The certificate of merit awards, given out by Rotary International Past President Rick King and District Governor Lawrence Furbish, cited club members with under two years' Rotary service.   Marcie accepted our club's role of assistant secretary on short notice, and has worked extensively with club Secretary Deb Grabowski, the board of directors, and with the club service team.   An upstate New York native, she is executive director of Habitat for Humanity on the Seacoast.   Photo by Aileen Dugan
