Bob Fabian
The 3rd Age

Bob has been "retired" for a few years but only recently recognized that he's a 3rd Age Member.  The 3rd Age is the period of our lives when we face the least constraints.  We're (largely) free to do as we will but what should we do? Rotarians recognize full well the value of contributing to community, but why is it so important for 3rd Age members and for society?

Bob's answer to that question revolves around our nature as social animals - we're defined by our communities (as well as our genes). Contributing to the well-being of valued communities resonates deep, inner human need.  It is also socially critical - we need more people who put well-being ahead of wealth. 3rd Age members are positioned to do just that.
