2019 Santa Claus Parade
Date:
The 2019 Santa Claus Parade will take place on Saturday, November 30th, starting at 5 pm.
Theme:
The 2019 Theme is “A Dickens of a Christmas”. As this is an evening parade, please use lots of lights on your entry to enhance the enjoyment of our spectators.

Waiver:
All floats and groups must agree to the following waiver in order to participate in the Parade.
2019 Brockville Rotary Santa Claus Parade Disclaimer and Waiver
For the purposes of these rules and conditions a parade entrant is considered to be an organization, group or team who either marches, performs or rides a decorated float, tow vehicle or other vehicle in the parade, and who has registered according the procedures in place. The safety and security of all entrants to the Brockville Rotary Santa Claus Parade is of paramount importance. The organizers of the Parade Committee reserve the right to disallow entrants who are at variance with any rules and regulations the Committee may establish.
By completing and signing the Parade application form, the undersigned is acknowledging that they:
- Have the authority to commit the entrant to these conditions
- Are responsible for the behaviour, actions and non-actions of any parties who participate in the parade as part of their entry
- Are responsible for any costs they may incur by participating in the parade including, but not limited to, construction of a float or operation of a vehicle.
- Will not hold the organizers responsible for any last-minute cancellations due to the following:
- Entrants who are in non-compliance with the rules and regulations
- Entrants who arrive in vehicles that are deemed unsafe or dangerous, by the Committee, to other parade participants and entrants
- Extreme weather conditions
- Any other event or happening be it natural or human that is beyond the reasonable control of the Parade Committee.
Further the Brockville Rotary Santa Claus Parade Committee and the Brockville Rotary Clubs will not be held responsible for any entrant who does not comply with the road safety requirements of the Ontario Traffic Act or any other legislation pertaining to the safe operation or a motorized vehicle. The safety of all entrants to the Parade is the responsibility of the entrants and is not the sole responsibility of the Brockville Rotary Santa Claus Parade Committee or the Brockville Rotary Clubs.
In consideration of the acceptance of the Brockville Rotary Santa Claus Parade application, I
hereby release the Rotary Club of Brockville, the Rotary Club of the 1000 Islands, the Brockville Rotary Santa Claus Parade Committee and, all other parade committees and volunteers, all parade sponsors and the City of Brockville, from all and every claim for damages which may occur to me, or anyone participating with my parade entrant, at any time hereafter in favour of myself/them, my/their heirs, representatives, or dependents, against said organization, its officers and members, which may be suffered by me or any of them because of any matter, thing, condition, negligence, or default, or any person whatsoever, on the Brockville Rotary Santa Claus Parade Committee.
I / WE Have Read, Understood and Accept the above Conditions. Entries failing to adhere to these conditions will not be permitted to enter / continue in the parade.

Parade Route:
The Parade starts at the corner of Pearl Street East and North Augusta Road. The Parade will leave from this point at 5 pm.
The Parade proceeds south on North Augusta Road to King Street East. It then turns right onto King Street and proceeds to downtown. The Parade ends at Metro/Old Leon’s.
Directions for Parade Floats/Groups/Participants:
Registration opens at 3 pm, the Parade will start promptly at 5 pm.
North Augusta Road will be blocked off from its intersection with Central/Reynolds south to Pearl Street.
All participants please enter North Augusta Road via Reynolds Drive (east or west) or from Parkdale south to North Augusta Road. There is no entry from the south or from Broadway Avenue, Keefer Street or Pearl Street.
Rotarians/Volunteers will greet you at the intersection of North Augusta and Reynolds Drive.
At the bottom of the Railway overpass, you will be registered, provided with your float/group number and direct you to your assigned staging area.
In the staging areas, Rotarians/Volunteers will provide directions as to where to park so that there will be a smooth flow of entrees as the parade starts.
We will be using 3 lots along North Augusta Road as well as the street itself for staging area.
Please check back prior to the parade for complete directions for float/group exiting at the end of the parade and for picking up parade participants.
Parade Rules:
- No throwing candy or treats, they must be handed out by walkers
- Keep up to the float/group ahead of you
- If your float/group stops to perform for the spectators/judges, after you are done, immediately catch up to the float/group ahead of you, do not leave large gaps
- Please respect our volunteers as they work to provide a safe and enjoyable parade experience for everyone
- At the end of the Parade, please obey the directions of our volunteers when exiting, this will ensure the safety of everyone and the even flow of traffic
City of Brockville – Extended Bus Hours
The City of Brockville has extended bus hours to 8 pm on the day of the parade.
