What did you want to be when you grew up? As I grew up, I always wanted to be a Veterinarian.  I worked for the local vet in West Bend for four years as I attended High School.  I still love animals to this day.  Our family pets currently include: 1 Dog, 1 Cat, 2 Chickens, 2 Hamsters, Fish and a Chinchilla.  Over the years, my wife and I have also had a Congo African Grey Parrot, a Hedgehog, Lizards, Sugar Gliders, an Alligator, Guinea Pigs, Mice, Toads and Turtles.

Family: My lovely wife Brandy works as the community involvement & engagement coordinator at Johnson Controls.  Together we have two children Brooklyn and Bryce, they are 10 & 8 years old and attend Oriole Lane in Mequon.  I have one sister that lives in Germantown with her husband.  My parents still live in West Bend and we see each other regularly.

Interests/hobbies/last book read/favorite movie/what’s playing in on your car’s stereo/pastimes: My interest largely falls into two categories: Sports & Travel.  My wife and I have been fortunate to travel to over 40 countries since 2010.  I believe the experiences I have had traveling have greatly shaped my opinions and personality.  I was a four sport athlete in high school and played college football.  I serve as Homestead high schools defensive coordinator and take a lot of pride in that.  Also, I am an avid Brewers fan.

Career mentor/favorite words of wisdom/role model: “How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong.  Because someday in your life you will have been all of these” – George Washington Carver

Best business decision, or hardest business decision: Deciding to leave the classroom after 15 years of teaching was very difficult.  I was concerned about missing the daily interactions and relationships with the students.  Becoming the districts Academic & Career Planning Coordinator was a tough decision, but I am very happy I did.  I still have many student interactions regularly and more importantly am able to open some previously closed opportunities for our MTSD students.
