Last week we had Ron Schroeder speak to us about his experience helping with the Houston floods in August.  He went down on August 26th during Hurricane Harvey, and came back Sept. 9th.  Him and the Black Hawk unit were able to provide supplies and rescue efforts to those affected.  There were 39 soldiers in the unit and 7 aircrafts.  Him along with all of the military that came were able to: deliver 143,000 pounds of cargo, rescue 250 people--11 in wheelchairs, 57 infants and children, and 44 pets.  There were also 160 flight hours on the plane with no accidents between all of the military aircrafts there.  His story was very interesting, we were very glad to have him speak!  Thank you not only for speaking, but also for your admirable service.

Next week, members of the club will be helping with the CAMC health fair from 6:30-8am on the 29-31.  I'll send out a reminder email to let you know when you've volunteered to sign up.  November 14th, we will be helping Bruce cleaning up Sokol hall.  We are meeting there November 14th at 5:30 for our regular meeting time.

Ron B., Mary G. and Jim J. are in charge of November meetings.  If you have an idea for November 6th or November 28th, please contact them to get a meeting lined up.

At the meeting on the 24th, it was decided to have the Grocery Grab in the spring of this year since there would not be much time before December to get things lined up.  Please be looking forward to the planning process in February.
