Polar Bear Plunge in George - Its winter again and that means freezing cold
temperatures.
So, while many are at home enjoying piping hot beverages and keeping
out the winter chill, there are thousands of less fortunate people and animals on our
streets just trying to stay warm. It's a sad state of affairs, and something needed to be
done!
George Rotary Club tries to do their part by providing Hot beverages and biscuits at the
annual Polar Bear Plunge held at Victoria Bay in George, which gives the local
community the opportunity to take a leisurely mid-winter dip, all the while warming the
hearts and bodies of people and animals in need.
A blanket donation was all that was needed to take the plunge. All blankets collected
on the day were passed on to various charities, including Rotary, for distribution to those in need.
