Buffalo Rotarian Bob Adams spoke about his ombudsman position with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). The ESGR is a Dept of Defense agency, which seeks to promote a culture in which all American employers support and value the military service of their employees.He helps inform employers or service members about their rights and responsibilities.
He is there to:
✔️Advocate on behalf of the service member, their family and their employer
✔️Recognize and help the service member thank a supportive employer
✔️Inform the service member and their employer about the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)
✔️Mediate issues that arise between the service member and their employer
✔️Advocate on behalf of the service member, their family and their employer
