On Thursday, December 10th, 2015, Michele Kelm-Helgen, who is on the chair of the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, spoke to the Rotary Club about the US Bank Stadium project. The new stadium will be one of the most adaptable stadiums in the country hosting a wide range of major sporting events including the Superbowl in 2018 and the NCAA Mens Basketball Final four in 2019. US Bank Stadium will be a architectural marvel. It is nearly twice the size of the Metrodome with the same amount of seats, and will have a transparent roof to give the feel of an outside stadium in a temperature controlled area. This project helped ignite economic advancement in the surrounding area costing over $1 billion. Around 90% of the construction cost is covered by Minnesota businesses.
