A Perspective on Current Events in Turkey

Ariel Salzmann's scholarship on the past bridges world regions and disciplines.  She began her graduate studies in Persian language and literature at Ferdowsi University in Mashhad, Iran.  She studied sociology at Binghamton University and the New School for Social Research before completing a PhD in Middle Eastern History at Columbia University in 1995.  Before joining the faculty of Queen's University in 2003, Professor Salzmann taught graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Cincinnati and New York University.
