Thank you to Rotarian Brendan Hoban who was our last minute guest speaker this week after our scheduled speaker was ill.

Brendan gave an outstanding talk about the hundred of hours work that he has spent over a five month period building a model of a steamboat (named PAT after his son Patrick). The model is of a craft that sailed on Lake windermere in the English Lake District in the 1880s and '90s.

Using a fascinating series of pictures Brendan explain how he drew up plans and then proceeded to construct the model in what was a painstaking process.

The attention to detail and physical labour required to construct this model reflects Brendan's outstanding drafting skills and first class workmanship.

There were a large number of questions following Brendan's presentation reflecting the keen interest of listeners.

The final model was on display and it will be launched this coming weekend.

Thank you Brendan for a most interesting talk.

Rotarian Judy Coultas looks on keenly as Brendan display his wonderful model steamboat.
