The August market was reasonably successful thanks to the many members who stepped up on the day to replace the many grey nomads who have migrated up north to warmer temperatures. We had 38 stalls, including the Salvos for the first time, and over 550 visitors on what was a cold Melbourne day.

In the absence of the two Garys (Cooper and Evans), Funno stepped in to lend a hand with signage, and Alf took care of the BBQ.

We are lucky to have Cheryl (soon to be a member) who turned up at the crack of dawn (actually a little before dawn) to help manage the day along with Diana Gomez-Fullaway and President Ricardo.
Andie and Sam were on cue to work on the set up (although they weren’t able to outdo Alf who rumour has it camped out at the Old Cheese Factory overnight). The rest of the crew went about business as usual, despite a shortage of numbers, including Steve and Lea, Shuey, Graham, Darius, Rhonda, David Grant, and Russell who was spotted beavering at the BBQ. Thanks to Murray for volunteering – unfortunately he was not well enough on the day.

PP Terry, our Market Co-ordinator, reported that it was a pretty good day considering… It all came together with the help of the dedicated volunteers, the stalls full of goodies, and the keen visitors looking for a bargain and to get their fresh produce.
