Not quite the travelling post we planned.       We have just had our 4th night in mandatory hotel quarantine in Alice Springs.

Sadly, Mark’s sister died in New Zealand. We went over there for a week via Sydney. We flew back via Brisbane on Sunday. Got dragged out of the line when we arrived in Alice, because we have been in Sydney.

Unfortunately, both Sydney and Brisbane have now gone into lockdown. We got told we don’t have to do the whole 14 days quarantine. It started when we left Sydney, which was the 19th. So we get out on the 3rd. We still may have to do the two weeks because we came through Brisbane which went into lockdown later. Waiting for an answer on that. We both tested negative.

So locked in a hotel room it is....... We are allowed out for 25 minutes twice a day to walk in circles around a fenced area watched by a guard and a welfare person. Depending on how long we get we can do 2km!!!

Our room looks out on it so we can watch others going around and around. Also watching the cars drive in for testing. We get a phone call from a nurse to check on us every day. A knock at the door for very average meals…but we are not going hungry. We can get click and deliver from Woolies, so chocolate it is.  It could be worse, we haven’t decided what we will do when we get out.
