District Governor confirmed for 2019-20 - Congratulations to Past President  Adrian Froggatt on being confirmed as the District Governor Nominee. Adrian can count of the support of the Rotary Club of Berwick during his year as District Governor. Next week the Board will officially announce who will be Club President during Adrian’s year.
 
District Governor Nomination for 2020-21 – Past President, Mark Humphries, of the Rotary Club of Hastings Westernport has been confirmed as Rotary International District 9820, District Governor Nominee Designate. Many members will know PP Mark from his involvement as the ICT Services Manager at Nossal College. We wish him all the very best as he prepares to assume this important role.   
 
Model United Nation Assembly (MUNA) Applications Open – The Club will be looking to once again sponsor teams from local to participate in this year’s MUNA. A few applications have been received and will be considered at the next Board meeting on Monday 26th February.  
 
Club Treasurer for 2018-19 – President-elect Lea Paton announced on Wednesday that Gary Castricum has agreed to take on the role of Treasurer on the Board for the coming year. This announcement follows Trevor Bailey’s advice that he would be able to take on the role due to a recent injury that will require an extensive period of rehabilitation and a potential move to warmer temperatures. 
 
Become a Centurion – Please contact David Grant, Centurion Club Coordinator, if you would like to join the Centurion Club which requires an annual $100 donation towards The Rotary Foundation. Donations to TRF are tax deductible.
 
Relay for Life at Akoonah Park on 2-3 March – We are looking for volunteers to help set up on Friday and to participate in the walk. Please contact Jen Marshall if you are interested. This is another opportunity to be directly engaged in a local community event and to make a difference. Please complete the participant form sent out by David Button during the week.   
Guest Speaker announced for the St John of God Golf event on Friday 16th March – Lisa Norman, CEO of the St John of God Hospital in Berwick, has been announced as the guest speaker at the post event dinner. Members are reminded that the dinner replaces the Rotary meeting for that week. Members who are unable to attend will need to send an apology as per normal to attendance@rotaryberwick.org.
 
Annual Fishing Weekend 19th to 22nd April – It’s on again!! The Rotary Club of Orbost invites all Rotarians to what has become the “greatest fishing adventure in this District” and possibly beyond. The weekend only costs $420, including accommodation, food, bait, skipper etc. Bring your own caravan and save. This is Orbost’s major fund raising event and has become an event that is well supported by members and friends of the Rotary Club of Berwick. In Funno’s words… what happens on the fishing trip, stays on the fishing trip.

District 9820 District Assembly and Avenues of Service 2018 – This year’s Assembly will be held on Saturday the 29th of April at the Federation University, Berwick Campus. All Club Office Bearers, including Incoming Presidents, Secretaries and Treasurers are requested to attend. Rotarians wishing to develop or update their knowledge of Rotary Programs and Projects will also find this very useful. Please book via Secretary Jim Wilson before the 22nd of April, for catering purposes. Stay tuned for more information.
 
RYPEN Camp Postponed until 2019 – we have received advice that District that this year Rotary Youth Program of ENrichment has been postponed until 2019.
