Bob Lay AM advised that Charity Golf Day Chairman, PP Jim Armstrong is currently unwell.

On behalf of Jim, he advised that the Charity Golf day is a major fund raising activity for local charities, including the St John of God Hospital in Berwick.  As such, it needs more support from the Club members, otherwise it may not continue in the future.

In particular, the event requires teams of golfers to register, it needs more sponsors, raffle tickets to be sold, as well as raffle prizes and auction items gathered.

Raffle tickets will be available from early December and the event will take place on Friday 1 March, so prompt action is necessary.

In addition to the Golf Day update, Bob referred to two other projects, namely International Youth Exchange and a request from the Salvation Army to assist with their collections.

Bob is arranging a raffle to raise funds to assist our outgoing exchange student, Tara Wilkinson, who has to raise approximately $9,000 for the exchange.  He intends to involve her school, family and friends in buying raffle tickets, as well as our Club members.

The Salvation Army is seeking assistance in the collection of funds at street intersections.  He invited anyone interested in assisting the Salvation Army to contact him.
