Join us for a hot breakfast and to learn about Israel's lifesaving humanitarian work, from Sally Abrams.

Israel’s Global Humanitarian Aid

Israel is a tiny country that plays an outsize role in humanitarian assistance worldwide. Israelis are driven by the core value of tikkun olam, the belief that we have a responsibility to repair the world. Sending experts to disaster zones, treating Syrians injured in the Syrian civil war, and providing free, lifesaving heart surgery to children from underdeveloped nations are only a few examples. It’s a story that is amazing, intriguing, and inspiring.

Sally Abrams co-directs the Speakers Bureau for the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC MinnDak). Sally has spoken about Israel and/or Judaism in scores of churches, classrooms, and civic groups.

Sally believes deeply in the power of words to educate, illuminate, and inspire. She strives to build bridges between the Jewish and non-Jewish communities.

A fluent Hebrew speaker, Sally taught Hebrew for many years as part of the University of Minnesota’s College in the Schools Program. Sally is a frequent traveler to Israel and is always planning her next visit.

Her essays on Israel and Jewish life are widely read on Times of Israel, Kveller, TCJewfolk, and shared across social media.
