Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a nice Holiday Season with those closest to you. We are all waiting with baited breath to see what 2021 brings. It is starting out good with the distribution of the vaccine, and though progress won’t happen overnight, any progress is good. I am hopeful that prior to June we will all be able to hold a “normal” meeting with a full house.

Another bit of good news I have to share is that we have invested in our technology for streaming our meetings. Through the efforts of Past President Bob, President Elect Mark and Rick Rose and his team, we will be introducing this new technology in the next month or so. I think that this investment will help our club in many ways, especially in engagement of members who are unable to attend the meetings, recruitment of new members, and showcasing our efforts for the betterment of our community.

This new year also brings our Centennial year! WOW, one hundred years of The Rotary Club of Tucson. This is a huge milestone for our club and for all of us as Rotarians. Jim Lubinski and the entire Centennial committee have been working hard in planning to recognize this milestone and maximize our fundraising efforts in our partnership with JTED. I am honored to be President during the start of our Centennial year.

I know that this year may not bury the challenges 2020 brought overnight, but to quote Charles Haddon Spurgeon “Hope itself is like a star, not to be seen in the sunshine of prosperity, and only to be discovered in the night of adversity.” With that said I hope we find lots of opportunities this year to bask in the sunshine of prosperity.

In Rotary,
President Jen
