The Rotary Club of Queenstown, with support from Queenstown Lakes District Council and the Department of Conservation, are pleased to provide this trail for our community, which affords outstanding views overlooking the Shotover River.
On 28th October Mayor Jim Boult opened the Rotary Tucker Beach Track.

This Rotary Club of Queenstown community project begins at the Old Shotover Bridge and takes walkers and cyclists 3.2 kms to Tucker Beach. It offers spectacular views over the Shotover river to the Remarkables and also to Coronet Peak.

This track is part of the network of trails in the Wakatipu and it also gives pupils the opportunity to cycle to schools while avoiding traffic.

Club President Russell McGrouther had pleasure to announce that this $250,000.00 project marks the Club’s 75th Anniversary. Rotary provided $70,000 to the build.

It was a thrill to see the more than 30 children and adults cycle enthusiastically up the track as soon as the ribbon was cut.

Rotary organised, with assistance from Lions and some sponsorship, a free community BBQ at Quail Rise which included face painting and bike races for the kids.
