Something special took place at the March 29 virtual meeting of the Rotary Club of West Ottawa (RCWO) of D7040, a meeting attended by over 70 members and friends of the RCWO and the Rotary Club of Mira Road, Mumbai (RCMR) of D3141. After a presentation on the RCWO International Service activities, the two Clubs demonstrated their belief in International Cooperation by formalizing a Rotary Club Twinning Agreement.

This Agreement, signed by RCWO President Graeme Fraser and RCMR President Dr. Sandhya Raj Mehta, signals a desire on the part of members of both Clubs to establish a long-term partnership to enhance cultural and professional interchange, and to promote fellowship and service through joint service projects involving our two Clubs, our two Districts, and our two nations.

The event was even more special for the RCMR, as it was the eve of the 27th Anniversary of the RCMR being granted its Rotary Charter.

Among the participants at this event were 5 District Governors, present, past, and future:
For D3141: DG Rajendra Agarwal, PDG Dr. Bal Krishna Inamdar and DGN Arun Bhargava
For D7040: DGE Michel Wong Kee-Song and DGN Pardeep Ahluwalia.

We don’t know where this Agreement will take us, but we do know that the opportunities are exciting!
