A PAT ON THE BACK FROM YOUR “ALMOST” PAST DISTRICT FOUNDATION CHAIR!

I am writing this on June 30 since I’m heading out of town for a bit.  Therefore, the contribution results I will share should be very close to final results.  I want you to recognize what a terrific job you have done in supporting The Rotary Foundation in 2018-19.

Through this morning, annual fund contributions totaled $156,829, 115.0% of the cumulative club goals.  This is the second highest giving level in the past five years.  Per capita giving was $91.93, again the second highest in the past five years.  Not that far to go to get to the magic $100.00 per capita mark!  Job well done by Annual Fund chair Linda Giesen and everyone who worked diligently to keep the importance of the Annual Fund in front of our members.  The highest giving year was 2016-17, the Foundation’s centennial year.  We pulled out all the stops and invested $177,651, for a per capita amount of $101.28.

PolioPlus giving is the highest in the past five years.  Giving to date totals $62,917.00 well over $14,000 higher than last year.  This is 159.2% of the cumulative club goals.  Job well done by PolioPlus chair Paul Stromborg and all who assisted in this terrific effort.

We only have 57 Rotary Direct participants.  Consider joining the Rotary Direct ranks.  It makes giving easy and, as I’m fond of saying, if you give through your credit card, you’ll get points!  Remember, Rotary Direct ensures your money goes straight to the Foundation with no stops or timing delays in between.

More thanks to the rest of the team.  Claire Geirat is doing a great job with Paul Harris Fellow/Society activities.  Jane Goetz and Bruce Peterson handle the grants activities exceedingly well.  DG line have been wonderfully supportive.  We soon will have some changes in the team, but many remain.  Continuity is a good thing.  Thank you to everyone even though I don’t have space for all the names.

I’m turning management of District Foundation activities over to the very able DG Kathy Kwiat-Hess, but my heart is still engaged.  I guess what I’m saying is that, if you invite me to visit and talk about the Foundation, I will come.  My little way of staying involved.  Thank you everyone for a great three years!
