Innovation takes many shapes. Technology is sometimes the most apparent, but innovation in Education, Employment & Economy, Art & Recreation, Health, Safety, Sanitation, Transportation, Energy, Food and Water.
These areas and more will be available for discussion.  Delegates who attend will have many choices, such as breakout-sessions they wish to attend, Field Trips to go on and activities in which to participate.  While the content World Affairs Seminar offers is robust, the most amazing experience will most likely be meeting and making friends with peers from around the world.
Thanks to innovation, Rotary International President Elect Barry Rassin is able to open the 2018 World Affairs Seminar by video, and still attend the RI International Conference in Canada.  This is the third consecutive year the World Affairs Seminar will be convened by the President Elect of Rotary International.
We are also making new technology available to seminar attendee’s in the form of electronic “Guidebooks”* to enrich their experience. These downloadable apps will take the place of printed handbooks.  If an attendee does not have a smartphone they may use the computer lab to print a copy, or they may download to their computer.

Whether or not you are sponsoring a student delegate to WAS 2018, a parent or a school official who is able to make attending WAS a possibility, we hope you will look through this year’s program.
Consider sending someone to the 2019 World Affairs Seminar:  “The Promise & Perils of Social Media” to be held at Carroll University Saturday, June 22, 2019 through Friday, June 28, 2019.

* Unfortunately due to a “per capita” cost for each download, we are unable to offer the full Guidebook app to those not attending WAS.  However, the samples provided above give you most of the information available on the app.
