Janice Gage is a native Californian residing in Placer County for the past 32 years. Janice spent 17 years working as a Senior Management Analyst in the Placer County Executive Office – primarily in the area of Land Use, Public Safety, Criminal Justice and Health and Human Services. She earned an Accounting Degree with honors from Sierra Community College and a Bachelor of Public Administration Degree from the University of San Francisco. She also holds a Certificate in Land Use and Environmental Planning from the University of California, Davis.

Janice joined the 85-year old Auburn Rotary Club in 1997 and has been active in fundraising and served as Club Public Relations and Community Service Chair. Janice was elected as Auburn Rotary’s first woman President in 2003. Janice was District Conference Chair in 2005, Area 5 Assistant Governor from 2005-2007 and District 5190 Paul Harris Society Chair from 2006-2008. Janice served as District 5190 Governor for 2009-2010 during which time she was also invited to attend the 2010 Council on Legislation. Rotary International President Ray Klinginsmith has appointed Janice to the 2010-2011 RI District Governor Review Committee. 2011-2013 Zone Director Ken Boyd has also selected Janice as his Assistant Advisor to District 5190.

Janice has a passion for international service and has traveled to Mexico on numerous occasions to help with Rotary projects. A highlight of her Rotary service was assembling surgical kits at the Thousand Smiles Cleft Palate Clinic in Ensenada and building a block security wall at the Casa Hogar orphanage in Buena Vista, Mexico. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Kenya’s Saint Mary’s Rift Valley Hospital. Janice received the Four Avenues of Service Award in 2006 and District 5190 Foundation Service Award in 2007. She is a charter member of the District 5190 Paul Harris Society, a Major Donor for The Rotary Foundation and a member of The Rotary Foundation Bequest Society.

Janice is also well known for her volunteer service to the community of Auburn, involvement as a Placer County Juvenile Justice Commissioner, and Chairman and long-term member of the Sierra College Accounting Advisory Committee.

In addition to her love of Rotary, Janice is passionate about advocating for disadvantaged youth. She serves as Vice Chair on the Placer County Child Advocates Board of Directors in order to be a “voice” for children who are victims of neglect and abuse.

Janice resides in Loomis, California at her rural “hacienda” which is also a gathering place for cherished family get-togethers and celebrations. Janice is the proud mother of three sons and adores her seven grandchildren
