In February 2018, the eyes of the world will be on Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada as Rotary hosts the Presidential Conference on Environmental Sustainability and Peace—one of six international peacebuilding conferences planned for the 2017-2018 Rotary year.

President Ian Riseley has made environmental sustainability a major focus for his year and it is exciting that he has chosen Vancouver to hold the first Presidential Conference on this key area.

I wanted to extend my personal invitation for you to join me, along with Rotary President Ian Riseley, and many notable speakers as we explore how we can take action for positive impact for environmental sustainability and peace.

You can find all the details of the Presidential Conference program, speakers, registration, venue and other information at www.environmentandpeace.com.

The Conference will begin with a reception on Friday evening, February 9 and includes a full day and optional Saturday evening banquet on Saturday, February 10, and hands on service project opportunities in the Vancouver area on February 11.

Please invite others that have a passion for making a difference in environmental sustainability and peace to also join us! We want to reach out to those who are not Rotarians, as well as our own members, to bring the best ideas to the forefront. And there is special pricing for students, Interactors, and Rotaractors to participate.

Registration is available now at www.environmentandpeace.com.

Please contact Presidential Conference Chair, John Anderson at johnlanderson@telus.net, with any questions, or reach out to me if I can be of service.

Sincerely,
John C. Matthews,
Rotary International Director
