'Fifty  years of Rotary'  Eli Hill  - eli.hill@age.co.nz. - 3  May 2019
A cake, singers, and speeches covering over half a century of memories all added to the festivities of the Rotary Club of Masterton South's 50 year celebration. Club President, Graeme Sawyer, called the event a the Copthorne Hotel and Solway Park Resort a 'roaring success'.  " Everybody was enthralled by the evening. It was great  to see so many members there. Chris Gallivan our guest speaker was  amazing. He spoke on tolerance, people and positivity."  To cut the 50yr cake Sawyer enlisted the help of Ted Paris and Graeme Tulloch, two of the club's founding members who he said were still an active part of the club. Sawyer said it was the culture of the club that had kept it going for so long. "And the culture of the club comes from its members. We have a fantastic camaraderie."
