D7190 United Nations Day

District 7190 will be returning to Manhattan for United Nations Day on Saturday, November 12, 2016.   

 

 

The District will again be offering bus transportation to Rotarians (and guests) that would like to attend the adult program.

 

Adult program attendees do need to go to www.riunday.org to register for the event.   (note: as of Tuesday, September 6 the website is showing "waitlist" status for registrations).    If you are interested and on waitlist, the District may have a few additional seats that were booked in advance.

 

 

 

Our Youth Services committee is also offering registrations to allow our youth groups (Youth Exchange, Interact, and RYLA) to attend the event.   All signups for these groups (and/or siblings) is via our District 7190 website.    Once the youth registration opens, the Youth Services committee will complete the actual event registration for all paid signups.   DG John has again arranged for the District to provide bus transportation for our youth program members!

 

 

 

Detailed logistics will be sent around November 1 to everyone that signs up via the District 7190 website.  (please remember that adults need to register for the event on the www.riunday.org website).    Please make sure your email address is correct when you signup!   All payments are via credit card (sorry, no checks).

 

Please plan and prepare for the event: 1) you need to PRINT and bring a copy of your REGISTRATION ticket.  2) You also need to bring photo identification as the UN does extensive security screening.   Bring drivers license and/or passport.   Two forms of photo ID are recommended.

 

The logistics will be similar to prior years...    There will be one pickup location from the parking lot at Crossgates Mall (early -- 5:15am) for the bus transportation.    The parking lot where the 2 Brown Tours Coaches will be picking us up is near the JC Penney end of the Mall.

After the UN Day event ends, everyone will have a few hours of free time in Manhattan.    You can choose to explore, shop, or dine on your own (youth must stay with chaperones at all times).   Buses will pick up at 7:30pm from the Bryant Park area and return to Crossgates Mall.   Bryant Park is adjacent to the New York City library -- on 6th Avenue (Avenue of the Americas) between 40th and 42nd Streets).    We will have a basic NYC map that will be distributed on the buses for your reference.
