Big night at Mitchell River

What a night of excitement and celebration!
Rotary Club of Mitchell River recently hosted 95 Grade 6 students from 12 primary schools across East Gippsland, as they received their Rotary Junior Community Awards.
Each student has completed and recorded their weekly endeavors, as they undertook tasks and projects in their community.
Thanks to the many people who assisted students, and Mr Tim Bull MLA for presenting the awards.

  • The raised garden beds for the Rotary Club of Orbost's Community Gardens project have been transported to the gardens for testing. There is still plenty of work outstanding at the gardens, such as paving and plumbing, before this project is complete.
The Rotary Club of Phillip Island and San Remo entered into the Christmas spirit with this appropriately themed picture for their bulletins as the seasonal break approached.

Bairnsdale Sunrise members take a well-earned break from their endeavours cleaning rubbish from the highway west of the East Gippsland town last month. Great result, nice clean roadside.

Golfers chip in

More than 80 golfers helped raise thousands for community projects at Narre Warren Rotary Club’s annual golf day reports the Berwick/Beaconsfield edition of Star News.

A team from Brown’s Sawdust won the four-ball stableford event at Berwick Montuna Golf Club on 17 November.

Next placed were Frankston Sand and Soil, and Facey Industrial and Commercial.
Narre Warren Rotary president Mamad Amin said the club expected to yield close to $24,000 from what is its biggest annual fund-raiser.

The money will be channelled into causes such as the proposed Narre Warren Mens’ Shed, a mental health forum, a mental health first aid course and the CFA.

It would also help to support a school’s Mental Health Week event and sponsor students on Rotary youth science, leadership and exchange programs.https://berwicknews.starcommunity.com.au/news/2017-11-23/golf-day-hits-gold/
On the golf cart were John 'Robbo' Robertson, from Robertson Concreting, and Jim Lark, a guest of Brown's Sawdust and Shavings.

Students from the Warragul Regional College are helping Warragul Rotary with the Christmas trees as a fund raiser for their World Challenge community project in Africa next year. Thanks guys!!
