NEW WAY TO RING THE BELL

The Rotary Club of Fort Erie continues its annual service to Community by helping with the Salvation Army Kettles. The club rings the bell at Walmart from 10am to 6pm for 5 Saturdays in a row.  Members started November 20th and will continue through December 18th.

The club also engaged the international students from the Fort Erie International Academy to help with the bell ringing as a way for the youth to learn how Canadians do volunteer work and how Rotarians do Service Above Self.

As we ring the bell together, Rotarians learn about the home culture of the student also.  One student wore her traditional dress from the Shandong province of China.  The public also stopped, donated, and asked about the dress.  It was a wonderful exchange and hopefully provided a few extra dollars to the bucket.
