The Zone 28 (Zone 24 plus 5 districts from Michigan) Nominating Committee for Director met on 23 September in Montreal at the Hotel Bonaventure. We’re pleased to announce that the selection of the Committee was PDG Valarie Wafer from District 7070, now residing in District 7010 and member of the Rotary Club of Collingwood/South Georgian Bay. The Committee will report their results to the General Secretary. If there are no challenges to the selection of the Committee by the end of the challenge period (December 1, 2018) Valarie will become the Director-Nominee from Zones 28/32 and will serve a term on the Board From 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2022. The selection of the committee is not official until the completion of the challenge period and the subsequent announcement by the General Secretary.Many of us in District 6330 have known Valerie for several years and are looking forward to her leadership as a Rotary International Director representing our Zone. Attendees at last year's District Learning Assembly & PETS in Sarnia will remember meeting Valerie as she spoke at that event.
