Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary is excited to be hosting Hope in the Valley -- a Stay at Home Gala on Saturday, June 6th!  This online “virtual gala” will feature 90 minutes of impressive local entertainment, interviews and much more.  All the details can be found on the event website -- trellis.org/stayathomegala-bluemountains.

Registration is done through the website AND Gala guests are encouraged to make it a REALLY “gala” event by ordering a delicious meal from one of the many local restaurants who have enthusiastically jumped in to support the event. Links to the restaurants are on the website.

Somewhat tongue-in-cheek, the site perhaps all-too-accurately points out that the evening will be a chance to get OUT of our pyjamas and INTO something a little more festive.  (Although a photo on the website features an attractively dressed couple with shorts and fuzzy slippers showing below their fancy dinner table!)  A sign of these Zoom times… The list of local talent is impressive and the 2 talented MC’s will keep the evening lively and entertaining.  Ticket holders will receive a link on the day of the event that will allow them to tune in on Gala Night.

“Tickets” for the evening are in fact donations to our Rotary Club.  With virtually all of our normal fundraisers put on hold for a year, the Stay at Home Gala amounts to the best chance that Thornbury- Clarksburg Rotary has to raise the funds which will allow us to continue the work already underway in supporting local families struggling through COVID-19.

“Hope in the Valley” promises to be a positive, uplifting evening full of good fun, good food, good company and good entertainment and it will be a celebration of our amazing community in the midst of otherwise trying times.  The website tells it all, but barring that, gala organizers can be reached at hopeinthevalleytcr@gmail.com.

Anyone interested in throwing their support behind Hope in the Valley is encouraged to get in touch with T-C Rotarians through the email above – especially anyone who’d be interested in supporting through sponsorship.
