Drew Zieba is participating in our Rotary District Scholarship. He is a student at Truman State University expecting to graduate in 2021. His scholarship helps to cover medical Spanish training in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Just one of Drew’s Rotary focus areas includes disease prevention and treatment. He will be helping to coordinate efforts in local medical clinics and supporting local health care teams to help prevent the spread of disease through patient education.

Drew commented, “Thank you to all members of Rotary International, specifically those of District 6040. Your generosity has allowed me to conjointly pursue my passions of Hispanic culture and medicine at Asociación Pop Wuj in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. Through this program I am volunteering for 6 weeks in a clinic setting while improving my Spanish language abilities. I am extremely humbled and honored to have been selected for this scholarship and I will never forget the confidence your organization has placed in my aspirations. Muchas gracias from Guatemala!”
