Welcome to the 2014-15 world of Rotary Grants. This is the second year of The Rotary Foundation’s new Grant program. Now all TRF projects are called Grants. The two main Grants that are dealt with in this  module are Global Grants and District Grants.

There are links on the left side of this web page for an overview and several appendices:

District Grants in the 2014-15 year feature a District Matching amount of up to $2,500 with special consideration given to larger projects with matching amounts of up to $3,000. This is a sizeable increase from last year and truly demonstrates the commitment that DG Lisa has to each Club’s individual focus locally! Your Club’s projects are a high priority and financially supported by the District. DG Lisa strongly encourages every Club to take part in a District Grant, putting money where local Rotarians believe it belongs in your communities.

Applications should be in the hands of the District (Lisa Pauls) prior to June 15, 2014. This step, in conformity to procedures established by The Rotary Foundation (TRF), is necessary to facilitate the application to TRF for funding of all District Grant applications and the early reporting of completed grants. All individual applications must be in hand before the District may apply for funding for District Grants and once filed, approved and funded by TRF no further applications can be processed.

In the Global Grants arena the minimum and maximum contribution from the District is still $10,000. The minimum award from TRF remains at $15,000. District awards for Global Grants continue to be matched 100% by TRF and Club contributions 50% by TRF. As an example, a Club(s) participates in a Global Grant by contributing $10,000, the District matches $10,000 and TRF matches a total of $15,000, the project totals $30,000 or the minimum Global Grant allowed by TRF.

The method of processing Global Grants is unchanged this year. Clubs will find the Application at Rotary.org, member Access, Future Vision. Bill Davis and I are available to help in walking your Club through the Global Grant steps if needed. We do ask that interested applicants advise Bill Davis of the amount of DDF being requested in order that we may track the availability of DDF funds.

Have a great year and remember that all Grants are made possible by your contributions to The Rotary Foundation.
