Gulf Coast Leadership Institute

Rotary and Rotaract Clubs in District 5890 are invited to send participants to an interactive leadership workshop in northwest Houston on March 30th and 31st.  In this workshop participants will learn how to improve their personal leadership skills that can be used in their club, their vocation and in any community organizations in which they hold a leadership position.

The Leadership Institute will be very interactive and will cover material in the following general 
topic areas:

Social Styles                                                               Listening Skills
Challenges in Leading Diversity                                Group Activities and Presentations
Problem Solving                                                        Empowerment of Others
Inspiring Leadership                                                  Team Building
Conflict Management                                                 Meeting Management Skills
Ethics                                                                          Visioning Boards

Clubs may send a maximum of 2 members and the class will be limited to the first 24 who send in a registration fee of $240 by August 31.  Registrations received after August 31, 2018, will be $300. 

The Institute will be held at the Courtyard Houston Northwest – Marriott, located at 11050 Louetta Rd., Houston, Texas 77070. Information on the hotel may be found on their website at

Attendees must attend both days of the training and stay overnight at the hotel.  The registration fee for the two-day Institute is $250 and covers all materials, four meals beginning with lunch on Saturday, September 22nd and the cost of lodging.  Participants will be billeted two per room in non-smoking rooms.  Smoking in the room will incur a substantial charge to room occupants beyond the registration fee.

Attendees should arrive at the hotel no later than 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 30th, 2019, and be prepared to stay until the workshop concludes at about 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 31st, 2019.   Dress for the institute is business casual.
