District Four-Way Test Speech Contest

The District contest will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at :

South Grand Prairie High School, 301 West Warrior Trail, Grand Prairie TX  75052

• 8:30 AM - Arrive at Campus, Register, get room assignment 

 • 9:00 AM - The preliminary round will begin PROMPTLY 

• 10:30 AM - Semi-finals will begin 

• 12:15 PM - Finals will start 

Results will be announced and ballots returned immediately after each round. 

The “Most Firsts” method will be used for talleying results with multiple judges. Two “firsts” and a “sixth” wins over three “seconds.” Each club may enter one contestant. Once a student wins “first” at the club level, he / she may not enter other club level contests. Students may enter no more than two club level contests for a Rotary year. Previous District winners may compete again with a new speech. 

Scholarship Prizes at District will be $1,000. for 1st place; $500. for 2nd; $500. for 3rd , and $200. each for other finalists and the teacher of the 1st Place winner. Plaques will also be given to all winners, finalists and the teacher. Finals will be videotaped and available for $10.
