The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.  Annual Fund contributions help support our humanitarian activities, from local service projects to global initiatives. Your Rotary club or district can apply for grants from the Foundation to invest in projects, all made possible through the ongoing financial support of Every Rotarian, Every Year.

Through the SHARE system, contributions to The Rotary Foundation are transformed into grants that fund local and international humanitarian projects, scholarships, and activities such as vocational training teams. At the end of every Rotary year, contributions directed to the Annual Fund-SHARE from all Rotary clubs in the district are divided between the World Fund and the District Designated Fund, or DDF.  Please be aware that an online contribution to the Annual Fund in one of the six areas of focus (as opposed to Annual Fund-SHARE) will be directed entirely to the World Fund for use just in that area of focus, funding opportunities available to all Rotary districts.  None of your contribution will go to DDF, from which District 5400 funds district grants for local projects and provides 100% matches to club money directed to global grants.  Your contribution thus will definitely do good in the world, but less of it will be available to your club and our district for our specific projects.

As of Jan. 21, the district average for support of AF-SHARE was nearly $44/capita, with 17 clubs – Blue Lakes-Twin Falls, Emmett, Boise Southwest, Nampa, Meridian, West Boise, Eagle-Garden City, McCall, Boise Sunrise, Montpelier, Burley, Boise, Pocatello Gate-City, Boise Metro, Idaho Falls, Caldwell and Western Treasure Valley – above average! District-wide goal for 2015-16 is $95/capita.
