"Firstly, PETS turned out to far exceed any expectations that I had for it.

Actually, it was so challenging that I found myself wishing I hadn't heard so much of it (!!!)... like Satya's 55 new members in one year, (I need to review my goal of an additional 15 ...which, at the time, I thought was on the high side).

Rick King's speech was one of the most moving and brilliant that I have ever heard (and I have heard a lot!).  It was a fantastic calling to be all that I can be as president, and to take full advantage of the opportunity.

Ezra and Penny's and Dean's sacrificial  and inspirational work brought me to tears ... and made me so appreciative of Canada, along with a realization of how we take the privilege of living here so lightly, and the responsibly and opportunities that comes with that of making the world better."

"My team wants to strengthen and increase our Rotary Foundation giving for. both the centennial year and Polio plus in cooperation with the District. We want to focus on invigorating our club to attract our friends to join us in Rotary. We want to tie the Rotary brand to all our contributions to community improvements since Rotary began in Wenatchee in 1921."
James Russell - Wenatchee

"My plan is to form an accountability group with other PEs (so far Ashcroft and probably Clearwater),

where we check in with each other on a regular basis, to make sure we stay on track with our goals. I have committed to starting and maintaining the group, and will do so by the end of March. I will likely set up an online account through a workgroup app like Slack, where we can check in to discuss our progress. Of course other PEs are welcome to join, and if you want I can send you the details once I have it set up."

"PETS was great. I'm going to brief the next PE and VP on the fabulous weekend that I experienced. We want to continue to promote foundation and try to improve the participation rate. I also indicated an increase in membership, we will be following the membership matters booklet and how to be a vibrant club material."

"PETS was amazing…  It not only inspired me but taught me so much about rotary that I didn’t know.  I honestly was just going to be a “meeting manager”, try to get some new members, and maybe plan some new events.  I know have many plans… I actually wrote a motivating inauguration speech ( which I didn’t give any thought to before PETS), I would like to bring back the exchange students that we haven’t done in awhile, I researched an international project of building water wells in communities, I will apply for a district grant, I will actively seek new members (canvass the entire business community and pester as long as I have to until they come to a meeting), I am doing a complete overhaul of our meeting place to make it more inviting…  I have many other ideas that instead of just talking about will put into action… my club is in for it this coming year lol"

"As for PETS a couple of lines will hardly cover it.
Information presented at the sessions was excellent and provided resources to develop and help motivate our club to greater success. However PETS is about leadership and the stimulus provided by the main speakers has resonated within me a stronger feeling of why Rotary matters. From that feeling I am motivated towards greater commitment in leading our club forward during 16/17. "
Ross - RC of Salmon Arm

"Probably inspired by the wonderful speakers....we are stressing Programs this year  as the fuel that drives everything else on a weekly basis and....following our Centennial Celebration....doing some thinking about where we want the Club to go over the next 5-10 years.   A tremendous weekend...thanks to all who worked so hard to make it happen..."
Kurt - Yakima

"I got a lot out of PETS.  Until PETS I was just thinking of how I could do a good job managing the club efficiently without risk.  At PETS the Speakers and Educational Sessions were so good that I have become truly motivated to take risks and perform to the best of my ability.  I got so much from getting to know the other PE’s from the 8 other districts.  I am still working on my goals but have a Club Slogan for 2016/17.    MY ROTARY:  VIBRANT & RELEVANT
My goals will include increase to membership, Rotary Foundation giving and Fundraising.  I just have to come up with the right numbers."

"Before going to PETS I was really nervous about becoming President. I worried that my views or way of doing things may offend.. But I can't let that hinder the spark within me. Let that spark ignite!!! One thing that I learned is that it is not a managerial job but more of being a great team leader.  Having a positive approach and outlook will bring a prosperous year!! I really agreed with Dean's talk to us Sunday morning in our District meeting was there are two things that will ruin a President and they are 1) Ego 2) Politics, leave them at the door."
Devon – Kamloops

"I was absolutely amazed at the enormity of Rotary.  I enjoy knowing that there is tons of support as I take on the role of President."
Jan – Grandview

"The speakers at the plenary sessions are so inspiring, they somehow managed to force me to revisit the goals I had set for the club and for myself as president."
Marjolein – Westbank

"First thing is that you cannot go to PETS if you are afraid to cry. You will cry about the tragedies that Rotary is correcting. You will also cry about the missed opportunities for your club and for the people that you will leave in the coming year.  You will not go through PETS without gaining an emotional connection."
