CHARITY BASKETS were passed by Janis Constantine and Josie Dutil.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Bill Palmisciano thanked everyone who helped with May Breakfast, especially Tom Sanford.
PP. Jack Lindsey passed away and is being waked tomorrow evening at Carpenter Jenks on Route 2.  Please sign up for Honor Guard (Four people per shift for 30 minute shift).
Joe DesRoches – May Breakfast profit was $5,343.00.  From that was a $1,200 donation will be made to KEEP.
Board Meeting at Dan Scanlon’s business at 42 Ladd Street this Monday at 5:30 PM.
Oliver Brady – 50/50 Raffle – Sarah Channing had the winning ticket but did not pick the Queen of Hearts.
Charter Night June 25 – Carole Ritarossi is looking for some folks to serve on a committee.
Carole Ritarossi – RYLA Weekend – Nominated as Chair of RYLA for next year.
Ed McDonough – Looking for five members for a local Rotary disaster committee.  We will be joining with the Red Cross.
HAPPY BUCKS was hosted by Joe DesRoches.
Janis Constantine – For May Breakfast - Joe, Dan Sr. and Bill.  She was in Florida.
Mike Holland – For his mother and all mothers.
Bob Haigh – For Jack Lindsey.
Tom Sanford – For all of the help at May Breakfast.  His teaching skills made Dan Scanlon, Jr what he is today.
Steve Tilley – Taking all his parents and in-laws on a bus trip to his son’s graduation.  All parents are divorced.
Josie Dutil – Dad helped with high-end yard work.  Mom was the clean-up helper.  So blessed and fortunate to have them.
Scott Seaback – Jack Lindsey and other Rotarians headed on golf trip.  Needed to be home by 5 PM for cocktails before going to dinner.
Joe DesRoches – For Jack Lindsey, a good friend and travel companion.  2004 took a Caribbean cruise together.  Red Sox won that year!  Took same cruise on 2007.  Red Sox won again!
Dan Scanlon, Jr. – Worked the ladder in Jack’s grocery store in Pawtucket.
Tom Sweeney – Helped to get Dan Scanlon, Jr. and others here today.  Sorry to miss May Breakfast this year.
SPEAKER:  Steve Kitchin – New England Institute of Technology
Worked here for 29 years.
57 different degrees programs here.
Currently putting in the infrastructure for new building.
Next building will be $40-45 K square foot addition: classrooms, larger bookstore, student support services.  Starts in June.
In fall, new construction will begin in first dormitory.  Will take about 18 months to complete.
25 different countries represented here.
Need to create more jobs and opportunities in RI.
After 2008 – 2009, RI’s job are still 60% level.  MA is at 160%.
Marketing is making a comeback.
New Advanced Degrees:
  • Manufacturing
  • Welding
  • Construction Management
40% female student population.  New dorm will be co-ed.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Charter Night! June 25th at Warwick Country Club.  $25 per person.  5:30 PM cocktails 6 PM dinner buffet.
Vanessa Zampini – Read letter of thank you from Kent Hospital thanking us for donation to KEEP.
Ed Quinlan - Sent check for $500 to thank Joe McGair for his years of assistance received.
John Meara – 50/50 Raffle – Roberta Merkle had the winning ticket, and she did pick the Queen of Hearts!!  Congratulations Roberta.
Next Week – Million Dollar Meal at Hillsgrove House.
Joe DesRoches – Jack Lindsey’s wake was very well attended.  Many Rotarians.  Many eulogized Jack, including Joe!

Steve Hinger – Daughter graduated from U Miami on Friday – top 10% of her class!  Drum Rock is now accredited Level 3!  Top Level
Dave Campanella – Daughter graduated from UConn on Sunday. On her way on a big trip.
Paul Wyrostek – Great to be back!  Grandson, who graduated from UConn, will have title of Doctor in June.  Headed to Pawtucket Memorial.
Christine David – July 9 –Installation Dinner.
Bill Palmisciano – Thanks to Kent Hospital employees who supported our May Breakfast.
Bob Haigh – Boat is in the water.  Ferry service from Florida to Cuba.
Robin Lovely – Sorry to be away.  Happy to be back.  Have been very busy helping her dad and getting her office squared away.  Great to have you back.
Lorna Ricci – Super smart grandson just won award along with 79 other smart kids.  Woo hoo!
Larry Goldberg – Having surgery next week, but did not stop him from 5 days of golf in Myrtle Beach.
Chris Sanford – Big happy bucks for brand new beautiful baby Nora.  Happy, healthy.  Work is insanely busy which is great.
Donna Caccia – Heading to Florida.
Sarah Channing – Kent Center Open House on May 20th.  Great time - Please come!
Carole Ritarossi – Off to RYLA this weekend! Please sign up for Charter Night.  Promising unusual entertainment.
Paul Wyrostek – Wants to know if the mental health screening is mandatory.
Randy Shatz – Thank you John Howell for coverage of his company in The Beacon.
Roberta Merkle – Thank you Randy Shatz for great job his company did at the Memory Center.

Today at 80 bars.
8 – 10 tournaments held every night of the week.
400 – 600 players playing in leagues every night.
The league is larger than Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Foxwoods.
Lots of gossip at these tournaments.
Great friendships have been formed.  Very close knit group.
Trying to turn the bar poker community into something like worlds tour of poker with life-changing winnings.
12 employees run the poker nights.
Do many charity events.
No dues to join the league.  Just come out and play.
