Ralph S. RegulaRalph S. Regula, 92, of Navarre died at his residence on Wednesday evening, July 19, 2017.

He was born December 3, 1924 at Beach City to the late Oscar and Orpha (Walters) Regula and was a life resident of Stark County.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Mary (Rogusky) Regula; daughter, Martha Regula; sons, David O. (Jacqueline) Regula, and Richard S. (Sherry) Regula; grandchildren, Thomas, Garrett, Olivia, and Marissa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John D. Regula.

The honorable Ralph Regula was a U.S. Congressman, an Ohio State Representative, a State Senator, a State School Board Member, a lawyer, a teacher, a principal, a historian and a farmer. His vision, perseverance and leadership over 40+ years insured the preservation and development of natural, historical and recreational resources throughout the state of Ohio and the country as well.

His devotion as a public servant was his greatest legacy and the people whose lives he touched in so many ways will forever keep that legacy alive.

His family requests that in this time of mourning for a very public person that they be allowed a private time to grieve for a husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.

A celebration of his life will be planned at some time in the future. We ask that any memorials be contributed to St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Massillon or the Ralph and Mary Regula Center for Public Service at Mount Union College so that his legacy of being a public servant can be passed on to future generations.
