HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE ROTARY FOUNDATION

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR CLUB PRESIDENT!!

Everyone likes to receive gifts for their birthday.

 What better way to celebrate the The Rotary Foundation's 100th birthday than to give a gift to the foundation!

The Rotary Foundation began in 1917 with $26.50.  I am asking each Rockaway Rotarian to consider donating a minimum of $26.50 to the Foundation by June 1, 2017.  For those who are interested in becoming a Paul Harris Fellow, the district will match contributions of $100 or more with points toward the 1000 needed for Paul Harris recognition.  I also will match those contributions with personal Foundation points so… $150 donation will result in 450 points towards a Paul Harris pin.  The deadline for matching points is June 1, 2017.  The Rotary Foundation has been rated as one of the best charitable foundations in the world and I firmly believe that TRF is making our crazy world better a little bit at a time.  A portion of the Rockaway Rotary Club’s donations come back to District 7470 and are distributed back to the clubs in the form of District Grants. Rockaway Rotary has been awarded a number of these $1000 grants in recent years and we hope to continue to apply for these funds to further our local project endeavors.  Therefore, our individual contributions are returned right back to our communities.  Please make your contributions to The Rotary Foundation today.  Remember matching points are available only until June 1, 2017.  Please contact me (201-738-1739) me or Foundation Chair Rod Seifert (201-723-1882) for further information and assistance in making your donation.
