Veteran's Day Program

"A VETERAN is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to the United States of America for an amount "up to and including my life."

Last week's meeting featured a wonderful Veterans Day program created by Rotarians Mike Endres and Ben Martin.  The somber and beautiful ceremony was MC'd by Rotarian Martin who set the tone with a heartfelt welcome.  Rotarian Bob Kramer led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Krista Joy Dalgardno, soloist at Southeast Christian Church, performed a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.  Chaplain (Major) David Nagel gave the Invocation and asked for a moment of reflection.  He also provided the Benediction at the end of the ceremony.  Barry S. Oswell, Lieutenant Colonel, US Air Force (Retired) was our featured guest speaker and told us about his son who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  Rotarian Martin provided the closing remarks and the program ended with a video with photos to the song "God Bless the USA."
