George Brauchler is the elected District Attorney for the Eighteenth Judicial District (Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert, & Lincoln counties). It is the most populous jurisdiction in the state, with more than 930,000 residents. Lieutenant Colonel Brauchler was mobilized and served on active duty with the U.S. Army as the Chief of Military Justice for Fort Carson and ultimately the 4th Infantry Division and the U.S. Division-North in Iraq. Professor Brauchler has unmatched and varied experience in trial advocacy. He has 18 years of experience in the courtroom and has taken over 140 trials to verdict in state, federal, and military courts, the vast majority of which have been as a Prosecutor on behalf of Colorado and the U.S. He also has courtroom experience in civil law as both a plaintiff’s and defense attorney, and in criminal law as a defense attorney.
