For those that may not be familiar with the library in Quezalguaque
The Quezalguaque library was built in 2002-3 as a collaborative project with the Quezalguaque community and with lead support from the  Brookline Sister City Project.  Many others in the Brookline and surrounding community also contributed to make the library a reality.  Brookline High School students, for example,  raised $3,500 for purchasing books.  A generous grant from the  Rotary Foundation made possible by the Brookline Rotary and León Rotary funded  furnishings and a computer room.

The library is well situated on the main roadway entering Quezalguaque community, less than two blocks from the central town plaza.  It has regular hours throughout the week and is increasingly used by school children and other members of the community.

The Sister City Project  continues to provide support for the library and also funds a mobile library that serves outlying communities. (You can see a picture of the library building in the attached flyer).   If you’d like to learn more about the library in Quezalguaque, please contact Carol Caro, carol.b.caro@gmail.com
