Recap of the March 11th Weekly Meeting

In true Rotary fashion, we packed the Carranor last week for a highly anticipated guest speaker.  On March 11th we welcomed Rick Johnson, Vice President of Market Development at Clearas Water Recovery.  As many of us are aware, Mr. Johnson and Clearas have been working directly with the City of Perrysburg to host a pilot program at the city’s Wastewater Treatment Facility.  The pilot program is designed to reduce the phosphorous and nitrogen levels in discharged water.  Mr. Johnson provided us solid, scientific evidence that the process is working and is even able to be effective when the Water Recovery Advance Biological Nutrient Recovery (ABNER) technology isn’t being tended to on a regular basis.  After the very informative and highly enlightening presentation, Rotarians and guests were invited to take a tour and see firsthand the equipment used to carry out this very impressive process.
