Featuring: Prof. Eytan Gilboa, Middle East Scholar and Commentator

The Rotary Club of Houston, in collaboration with University of St. Thomas Center for International Studies are proud to host the Israel Public Diplomacy Forum for a talk and discussion:

Recent years have shown the old Middle Eastern order has all but collapsed in the face of political revolutions, disintegration of traditional governments, violent civil wars, the emergence of the Islamic State and the Iranian nuclear threat. Traditional ideological, religious, geographic and political lines have been blurred, with some states descending into chaos and others emerging into previously unthinkable alliances based on mutual interests and common foes. These new rivalries and rapprochements provide ample challenges for the next American president, who will be tasked with strategic reevaluation of American foreign policy in the region after the elections. Professor Gilboa will explore these challenges in their historic context, and what role the United States may play in the new Middle East.
