DEDHAM, MA, November 16, 2011 — Right in time for Thanksgiving, Neponset Valley Sunrise (NVS) Rotary presented a donation to three area food pantries at its Appreciation breakfast for businesses and individuals who have donated and supported Rotary fundraisers. The celebration took place on the morning of November 16 at the Holiday Inn in Dedham, where the club meets weekly.

The Dedham Food Pantry, Westwood Food Pantry, and Norwood Ecumenical Food Pantry received $500 each for a total of $1500. Brendan Gearty, President of NVS Rotary, said, “It is through the support from the individuals and businesses that we are thanking here today that we are able to continue to donate much needed funds back to our local communities.”

Before presenting a check to representatives of the food pantries, Gearty said, “Now more than ever, local food pantries need our help. The demand for their services is great, and funding to many non-profits have been cut. We are happy to donate to Dedham, Westwood, and Norwood food pantries once again, and we urge others to do what they can this holiday season as well.”

The Neponset Valley Sunrise Rotary has supported the youth and charitable organizations of our community and the Rotary Foundation’s efforts to enhance our world since 2001.
