Bryan Fitzgerald, a 25-year-old actor-writer-filmmaker and a recovered drug user and alcoholic will screen his film "Underwater" at the Ridgewood A.M. Rotary Club on Thursday, May 26th.

In 2008, as a senior in high school, Fitzgerald nearly died from his reckless decisions. In 2012, he came up with a creative way to express himself and aid his recovery: to make a film based on my experiences.   "Underwater" is a 15-minute narrative short film based on the true story of a young man who overcomes substance abuse and chooses a positive life.

His goal is for the film to be shown in high-schools, universities, and youth groups – presented directly to those who most need to see and hear the message – with the intention of changing and saving lives. "Under Water" has just been granted a Remi Award at the 49th Annual WorldFest Houston International Film Festival.

The Ridgewood A.M. Rotary Club is a local community service organization comprised of a diverse range of professionals who share the goal of making a difference in our communities and the world. We invite you to join us on Thursday mornings at 7:30 a.m. at Roots Steakhouse, 17 Chestnut Street, Ridgewood, NJ 07450. A full breakfast is served. The cost of breakfast is $13, payable at the door.
