The District will have approximately $50K available for grants to clubs for projects in 2015-2016. The grant application process is easy and straightforward. Plus, this club, Rotary Club of West Seneca (RCWS), has many colleagues trained and available to help.

A recent story described the impact of The Rotary Foundation and the level of support provided by RCWS. The focus of that story was Global Grants. There are, in fact, two types of grants supported by The Rotary Foundation as a result of club contributions: Global Grants and District Grants.

Global Grants are the biggies. They make significant impact at the international level because of action and cooperation involving Rotarians. That also means big bucks.

District Grants (in this case meaning grants from the district to a local club) on the other hand are more focused, usually shorter term, meet a more immediate need and don’t usually cost as much to achieve the intended objective.

However, both Global and District Grants are expected to align with The Rotary Foundation’s “Six Areas of Focus,” have lasting impact and, if appropriate, be self sustaining at project completion.

Approximately $50K will be available to support club applications in 2015-2016. Only one per club will be granted, at $2K maximum match, until all the money is appropriated.

The time frame for 2015-2016 is – applications are due by January 15, 2015. Plenty of time but needs your immediate attention.

There are at least eight (8) colleagues in RCWS who are trained, authorized and ready to help: Nihil, Thompson, Bedient, Vogel, Weimer, Amico, Ochterski and Boronkay.
