State Representative Hannah Kane, members of the Shrewsbury, Westborough, and Northborough fire departments, local elected leaders and residents from the community will come together to host a fundraiser to benefit the family of deceased Worcester fire fighter and Shrewsbury resident, Christopher Roy, who lost his life battling a fire at the beginning of December. Roy leaves behind a nine year old daughter, Ava, a Shrewsbury Public Schools student. "Towns of Love for Ava Roy" will be held on Friday, January 25th (snow date Friday, February 8th) from 7-11 pm at Maironis Park and feature live music from multiple bands and an extensive raffle and silent auction.

The auction/raffle committee will meet on Wednesday, January 2nd at 10 am and there will be an organizational meeting for anyone interested in helping with other tasks on Monday, January 7th at 9 am. Both meetings will be held in the meeting room at the Shrewsbury fire station.

Items for the auction and raffle are needed and can be dropped off at the Shrewsbury fire station on Church Road. Information on ticket sales and sponsorship opportunities will be shared as it becomes available.  Club members Mindy McKenzie, Jason Palitsch and Beth Casavant are currently involved in the planning and invite others to participate and/or attend. They are also able to collect auction/raffle items and answer any questions.
