WE SAY GOOD BYE TO OUR PRESIDENT
We had great attendance at our first meeting of the year – it’s almost like members couldn’t wait to get back into the swing of things.  But a little announcement at the end of the meeting silenced the room.  Tom Havens, our illustrious president, announced that he’s being transferred by his company and will be stepping down. He has served Highlands Ranch Rotary well this year, leading the club in a professional manner, standing side-by-side with Mary Kay in her duties as district governor and serving us all well.  So send Tom a bittersweet note – congrats on his new position, but sincere sadness upon his departure.  No worries, we haven’t seen the last of Tom, as he will rejoin the club when he’s back in the area, as he plans to retire here.

Our own dynamo, Jan Selinfreund, president elect, is up to a lengthy presidency and has agreed to step in to fill the void of Tom’s departure.  She’ll take the reins on Feb. 1. Jan was quick to say she’d need all the help she could get.  Being such a hands-on club, there is no doubt that she’ll have people at her side to help in any way.
