Announcements

  • Brandon reviewed duties for January/February luncheons

  • Larry C. announced there was a meeting at the Senior Center on Ensminger Road regarding the Rotary Garden project.

  • Steve is looking for guest speakers.  Sue was reminded to forward the list of grant awardees to Steve to assist in upcoming speakers.  Sue will also get a date on the calendar for Walt Ludwig from Kenmore Mercy Hospital to present.

Our guest speaker today was Skylar Shurr, Program Manager for Hearts for the Homeless.

Skylar informed those in attendance on how the organization was founded and the current programs/clients that are served.  HFTH began as a mobile soup kitchen that served meals to homeless individuals 5 days/week.  The organization has grown to include clothing bins throughout the WNY, a thrift shop along with a food pantry.  HFTH partners with other organizations like FeedMore to address the growing needs of this population.  You can learn more about the organization, the mission, upcoming projects and how to assist by checking out their website

Confessions:

  • Sue J. had a birthday

  • Mike Ford has a new job and will be “scarce” at upcoming meetings

  • Larry C. was fined – but I can’t remember why

  • Paul C. was fined because Skylar’s phone rang during his presentation

The split club was won by Gary R who also missed the Ace of Spades

Respectfully submitted:
